Dubyah Kills Another Kid

2004-04-23_xx_10:44 p.m.

A guy named Pat Tillman died today. He was a soldier, an elite Army Ranger to boot.

If you aren't from this neck of the woods or don't ever pay attention to professionl or college level football you probably have no idea who he is.

Which is good, because he isn't really any different than anyone else who has died whilst "battling terrorism". He is not any more or less important than the private lynch chick or the contracted security personal that were hung from bridges. The reason that everyone is making a big deal about it is because he was somebody who didn't have to be there, but he was where he was because he volunteered to do so.

In the span of 12 hours, Pat Tillman went from someone that everyone forgot about (except his close family and friends) to someone everybody now knows about because George Bush and my country killed him.

It's really that cut and dry, if you think about it. Acheiving the stereo-typical martyr status; in death he lives on. But what sucks most about the entire situation is that Pat Tillman would have be pretty pissed off that such a big deal was made about the whole thing. The Notorious B.I.G. was right; "you are nobody until somebody kills you."

This country and it's propoganda rhetoric makes me sick. I for one will do the right thing and quietly give a silent nod and move on, cuz that's how it should be.

Besides.

Politics and Pro-football don't mix.

And all the people that are freaking out, making those god forsaken (though shalt not covet graven images) shrines and making a huge uproar over this should be ashamed of themselves.

I know I am.
